ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS
I recommend you have at least a 2400 baud modem, ANSI is required.
ANSI color graphics recommended.
The Story:
You, a couragous young apprentice, have unwittingly challenged
the Wizard, Thargo. Your intention was to try and speed up your
appointment to wizard. As you stand watching Thargo flare up
to full strength you realize that he is a lot stronger than you
originally calculated.
As visions of you being zapped out of existence pass through
your mind, you feel a burning sensation flow through your body.
Before you have a chance to do anything, all goes black.
You wake up to find yourself in a musty dungeon. As you sit
and ponder your foolishness and thank the gods that you have
survived the ordeal, Thargo's voice echoes through the chamber.
"Welcome to my maze. You served me well, but have become
restless. Your lack of patience could be your undoing. I have
no other choice but to give you what you want. This is the final
test, pass this and you will be appointed to wizard.
"The only opposition are the catacombs and time. As you begin
each level I will start flooding it with sleeping gas. You have
only a few minutes to find the exit or you will fall unconscious.
At that point my maze men will move you to a lower level.
"Beside you is a pack with a compass and some spells to start
you out; other spells like these can be found throughout the maze.
You will also find levers that stop the gas for 10 seconds. These
were left in during the construction of the maze and we haven't had
time to remove all of them. Good luck... apprentice."

Casting Spells:
You have the following spells at your disposal:
Bashwall - Use to destroy the wall that you are facing.
Be careful not to cast the spell toward the edge
of the maze if you do you will loose it!
View - Brings up a 9x6 map of your surroundings. Your
position is marked with red "U"s. All this shows is
you and the map. Up on the screen is North.
Return - Use this spell to save a location. Casting a second
return spell will return you to the location where
you cast the first. Will ask if you wish to cancal
the first spell or return.
Wish - Use this spell as a last resort. It will teleport you
to the end of the maze. This is a rare spell and
may not be in all mazes.
Game Screen:
The game screen consists of two rectangles: The small rectangle
is the 3D viewer and the large rectangle is the map area. Your X,Y
locations are at the top of the 3D viewer; your score and count down
timer at the the bottom. At the top of the map area is the size of
the maze and at the bottom is your time left in the Wizard Maze 3D
door. If the maze is larger than the map area "MORE" will appear at
the side where the map extends beyond the border.
The 3D viewer shows you a 3D view of the maze. This is where
your eyes will be most of the time.
The map area shows you a 2D view of the maze. As you move, the
path you have taken is marked in CYAN. If you mark a location, it
will be BLUE. A return spell location will be marked with RED.
You are a WHITE letter that reflects the direction you are facing:
"N" for North, "E" for East, "S" for South, "W" for West.
Symbol Table:
S - Starting point.
E - Exit.
B - Bashwall Spell.
V - View Spell.
R - Return Spell.
W - Wish Spell.
T - Gas Delay Lever.
By moving over these areas you will pick up or activate them.
There are 100 levels in the maze. The starting level is 22x22.
Every 5 levels the X and Y size increases by 2. The maximum size
is 60x60.
HINT: The exit is ALWAYS in the Southeast corner of the maze.
HAVE FUN!
